We're sure you're familiar with the Adidas Samba, the sneaker of the moment. But what do you know about Kader Sylla?
Originally from the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, he entered the world of skateboarding at the age of 6 through fingerboards and his first skate came from his grandmother. He watched some YouTube tutorials and, taking inspiration from Rowan Zorilla, Torey Pudwill and Ryan Sheckler, he found himself signing for Baker Skateboards as an amateur in 2016, discovered by Andrew Reynolds (owner of the brand and legendary skater of the Bakerboys). In 2017 he signed with Emerica, for 2018 with Vans. In 2020, already a pro at Baker Skateboards, he briefly flirted with Nike to, a few months later, officially end up working with various interpretations and colorways of classic Adidas silhouettes.
Now that we’ve introduced Kader, let’s talk about the sneakers. A Samba ADV x Kader that evolves the classic silhouette with unique details inspired by, as a nod to, Kader’s family roots in Ivory Coast, West Africa.
Shifting the color palette toward dark tones dominated by black and brown, to play off the signature caramel gum sole, the Kader Samba features a premium textured leather and suede upper with a hidden interior pocket inspired by the design of 90s skate shoes.
The Samba ADV x Kader sports an improved T-toe design with two layers of Adituff reinforcement in the toe box for a comfortable feel, flexibility and durability.
A Kader design, with a very Kader style.
