Palace, founded in 2009 by Lev Tanju in London, was born out of a passion project. Tanju, along with his group of skater friends, founded the brand with the intention of creating clothing and skates that reflected their lifestyle and the vibrant skate scene in London. Inspired by 90s skate brands, Tanju wanted to do something different, something that would resonate with the young skaters around him.

The name “Palace” comes from the dilapidated apartments where Tanju and his friends lived and which they humorously called “palace”. This name, which evokes images of grandeur in contrast to the reality of their lives, reflects the irreverent and subversive spirit of the brand.

One of the keys to Palace’s success is its unique aesthetic. Combining 90s nostalgia with a modern approach, Palace has created a visual identity that stands out with bold graphics, striking logos and an eclectic mix of cultural references. The iconic Tri-Ferg logo – a Penrose triangle with the word Palace inside – illustrates the brand’s philosophy and conveys a sense of continuous movement.

Palace is known for its collaborations, having worked with brands from Adidas, Umbro, Salomon, Ralph Lauren, Evisu, Moschino and Reebok to Gucci. It also pushed boundaries by collaborating with brands such as Cîroc Vodka. These collaborations not only raised Palace’s profile, but also demonstrated its ability to move between high fashion and street culture without losing its authenticity.
